Board of Commissioners

About

The City of Belle Meade is chartered as a City Manager-Commissioner form of government. The Board of Commissioners is the policy making body, while the City Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer.

The citizens elect five Commissioners for staggered four-year terms and the Commissioners elect two of their members to serve as Mayor and Vice-Mayor for two-year terms.

Meetings

Regular meetings of the Commissioners are held on the third Wednesday of every month at 4:00 p.m. at City Hall, 4705 Harding Road, Nashville, Tennessee. These meetings are open to the public and all residents and other interested parties are cordially invited to attend.

Code of Ethics

The Board of Commissioners recognize the importance of protecting the integrity of the processes of local government from abuse.  Holding public office and public employment is a public trust and all citizens of Tennessee are entitled to an ethical, accountable, and incorruptible government.  In accordance with T.C.A. subsection 8-17-103, the City of Belle Meade has adopted ethical standards for all officials and employees.  The code of ethics may be found in the Belle Meade Municipal Code under Title 4, Chapter 2, section 208 or click here.

The City Attorney is designated as the Ethics Officer of the City of Belle Meade and shall investigate any credible complaint against an appointed official or employee charging any violation of this code of ethics.
