Dispatcher answers telephone 24 hours per day 7 days per week.

The Police Department includes sixteen sworn police officers, (including the Chief of Police and a full-time investigator), four dispatchers and three part-time dispatchers. The combined service time to the City of Belle Meade by members of the Department exceed 200 years! Each Belle Meade police officer exceeds the professional standards required by the State of Tennessee for police officers. All officers are trained and certified by the State in basic first aid and recently completed CPR and Emergency Cardiac Defibrillator courses. This basic cross training reduces the critical response time in the event of a cardiac arrest and is available at all times. Officers within the Police Department have a wide range of expertise in the field of law enforcement to provide the community with the highest degree of service.

Emergency calls requiring the Police Department are routinely answered in about three to four minutes. This emergency response time is well above the national average. Non-emergency calls are quickly answered in the order they are received.

All marked Belle Meade Police vehicles are equipped with a video/audio recording device, first aid medical kit, fire extinguisher and speed monitoring devices. An Automatic Defibrillator on each shift is available for emergency use.

The Belle Meade Police dispatch operates every day of the year, 24 hours a day. Each dispatcher is certified through the State of Tennessee, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Davidson County Metro Police Department.
