City Hall

City Hall - Now at our new office at 4705 Harding Road.

The city hall property and building at 4705 Harding Road were acquired in the 1950’s. Previously, the building housed a service station and a “pub.” Currently, the police department uses one side of the building and the administrative offices occupy the other side. The public works department operates from a recently constructed spacious garage located directly behind city hall.

The city hall building contains three thousand five hundred square feet of very functional space used by the staff, elected officials, citizens and visitors. In addition to offices, there is a large multipurpose room used for voting, public meetings, city court, traffic school and as a dining room when the city employees have their annual Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. A second, smaller conference room is also used for various functions. It serves as a space for assembling and labeling the city newsletter, holding staff meetings and reviewing building plans with residents, their architects and contractors. In addition to this, there is also a small kitchen for the staff and a locker room with showers for the police department. There is not, however, a post office in the city hall building! The staff often has to give directions to the post office to people stopping by wanting to mail a letter or purchase stamps.

In accordance with recent legislation under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), there is handicapped parking and two separate entrances to city hall with ramps for the physically impaired.
